A 30-minute weekly peer practice
to focus on doing what matters for you.Small groups. Real conversations. Guided live by experienced coaches.Build momentum. Follow through. Get unstuck — together.
You know what you want to work on — but following through is inconsistent
Important things sit on your list longer than you’d like.
You don’t need more ideas — you need momentum.
You’d benefit from a simple weekly structure and real human support.
If that’s you, you’re in the right place.
The Momentum Practice is a live, coach-facilitated, weekly peer practice designed to help you:
follow through on what you say you’ll do
notice patterns in how you lead yourself
learn from others navigating similar challenges
and build steady momentum over time
It’s not coaching.
It’s not therapy.
There’s no fixing or advising.
It’s a simple, structured space to show up, tell the truth, and take meaningful action — together.
Each week, Laurent and Kathy host a live 30-minute session.
Here’s the rhythm:
1 Traffic-Light Check-In
(2-3 minutes)
We start with a quick poll:
🟢 Green — you did what you said you would
🟡 Yellow — partial follow-through
🔴 Red — things didn’t move
This creates awareness without judgment.
2 A Short Teachable Moment
(about 5 minutes)
Laurent or Kathy shares a practical insight on topics like:
procrastination
resistance
self-leadership
noticing patterns
Nothing heavy — just something you can apply right away.
3 Breakout Conversations
(about 20 minutes)
You meet in pairs or trios using a simple structure:
What you committed to last week
What you completed (or didn’t)
How your self-leadership showed up (or didn’t)
What you’re committing to for the coming week
These conversations are about active listening and reflection.
Often it’s the questions others ask that create the biggest shifts.
Each week you also receive sample prompts to support these conversations.
Over and over, participants tell us they notice four things:
✔ A real self-accountability muscle
You become more comfortable telling the truth about your follow-through — without beating yourself up.
✔ Small but powerful
“aha” moments
Simple questions like How did I lead myself this week? help you spot patterns and create meaningful shifts.
✔ Learning from peers
Even short breakout rooms are grounding. You realize you’re not alone — and gain perspective from others.
✔ Things actually get done
This is the practical part.
When you know you’ll check in every week, momentum builds.
Items that have been sitting on your list begin to move — and some simply disappear because they finally get completed.
Not through hustle.
Through rhythm, structure, and human connection.
Participants also receive Weekly Planner Worksheets to:
set goals
reflect using the traffic-light system
notice patterns over time
They’re optional, intentionally simple, and designed to fit real life.
Before your first session, you’ll also complete a short intake experience (live or via video) to help you clarify what you’re working toward and translate that into small, concrete actions for your first week.
The Momentum Practice is for:
people who tend to procrastinate and want steady follow-through
professionals who want clarity and momentum
coaches who’d like to offer clients a lightweight accountability space
anyone who knows what matters — and wants help actually doing it
No prior experience required. Just a willingness to show up.
The Momentum Practice was created by Laurent Besançon and is co-facilitated with Kathy Smith.
They’re both leadership coaches who trained at Georgetown and have spent over a decade helping people step into their potential. They also practice this work themselves through a long-standing weekly accountability partnership.
You’re guided live by real humans — not apps, dashboards, or automation.
30 minutes per week
Live, facilitated sessions
Small groups
Simple structure
Real momentum
That’s it.
If you’re someone who knows what you want to work on — but sometimes struggles to follow through…
Or if you’re a coach who sees clients bump up against procrastination and wants to offer them a supportive weekly container…
The Momentum Practice might be a great fit.
